No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Five children. One big bed.
One angel who saw it all.
About the book
In the spring of 1996, five children were jumping on their mother’s bed in a little brick house near the Charlotte airport when the four-year-old went off the foot of it. The family doctor gave an order over the telephone that the Andrews children would hear for the rest of their lives: “You tell those children I said no more monkeys jumping on the bed.”
They were back on it by Thursday.
Twenty-five years later, all five come home to bury their mother. Gideon is an Army officer. David arrives from San Francisco carrying something he has not told anyone. Essie paints, designs, and still lives close to home. Jonah is a preacher. Miri, the youngest, returns from New York.
Five siblings, brought together again—each carrying a story of their own.
